Zero-shot means a model performs a task correctly without ever having seen a labeled example of that exact task, relying only on its general training. It is common with large language models, which can follow a new instruction described in plain language alone.
Zero-shot means asking a model to do a task it was given no examples of, relying entirely on what it absorbed during training. That this works at all is the surprising property of large models, earlier systems had to be trained per task. It is the baseline against which few-shot and fine-tuning are judged: if zero-shot suffices, the added complexity is not earning its keep.

التعلم بدون أمثلة يعني أن النموذج ينجز مهمة بشكل صحيح دون أن يكون قد رأى مثالاً مُصنَّفاً لتلك المهمة تحديداً، معتمداً فقط على تدريبه العام. وهذا شائع مع النماذج اللغوية الكبيرة، التي يمكنها اتباع تعليمة جديدة موصوفة باللغة الطبيعية وحدها.
