A second, more careful scoring pass over the candidates retrieval returned, reordering them by true relevance before they reach the model.
Vector search is fast because it compares a query and a document independently, which is also why it is approximate. A reranker reads the pair together and can judge relevance properly, far more expensive per item, but applied only to the twenty candidates the first stage returned rather than the whole corpus. This two-stage shape gets most of the accuracy of exact search at close to the cost of approximate search.
Adding a reranker fixed the retrieval quality without changing the model.

تمريرةُ تسجيلٍ ثانية أدقّ على المرشحات التي أعادها الاسترجاع، تعيد ترتيبها حسب الصلة الحقيقية قبل أن تصل إلى النموذج.
البحث المتجهي سريعٌ لأنه يقارن الاستعلام والمستند كلاً على حدة، وهو لذلك تقريبيٌّ أيضاً. أما مُعيد الترتيب فيقرأ الزوج معاً فيستطيع الحكم على الصلة حكماً صحيحاً، وهو أغلى بكثير لكل عنصر، لكنه يُطبَّق على العشرين مرشحاً التي أعادتها المرحلة الأولى لا على المدونة كلها. وهذا الشكل ذو المرحلتين ينال معظم دقة البحث الدقيق بكلفةٍ تقارب كلفة التقريبي.
أصلحت إضافةُ مُعيد ترتيبٍ جودةَ الاسترجاع دون تغيير النموذج.
