Fine-tuning is additional training that adapts an already-trained model to a specific task or dataset. It typically needs far less data and compute than training a model from scratch.
Fine-tuning continues training an already-trained model on a smaller, targeted dataset so it adapts to a domain, a format, or a house style. It changes the weights, which distinguishes it from prompting: the behaviour persists without being asked for each time. It is the more expensive option and is often the wrong first reach, retrieval or a better prompt solves a large share of the problems fine-tuning is proposed for.

الضبط الدقيق تدريب إضافي يُكيّف نموذجاً مدرَّباً مسبقاً مع مهمة أو مجموعة بيانات محددة. وهو يحتاج عادة إلى بيانات وموارد حوسبة أقل بكثير من تدريب نموذج من الصفر.
