xAI's Grok 4.3 lands on Amazon Bedrock in GovCloud

xAI has made Grok 4.3 available on Amazon Bedrock within AWS GovCloud (US-West), marking the company's formal entry as a model provider in Amazon's government-focused cloud region. The move gives federal agencies and regulated organizations a sanctioned path to run Grok inside an environment built for compliance-heavy workloads.

Grok 4.3 is designed as a reasoning-first model, meaning it can be tuned to think through problems at different levels of effort, from none to low, medium, or high. That configurability lets teams trade off latency and cost against depth of reasoning depending on the task at hand.

The model also emphasizes tool use and instruction-following, two traits AWS specifically highlights as useful for building dependable AI agents. Combined with its reasoning controls, this positions Grok 4.3 less as a general chatbot and more as infrastructure for multi-step, agentic workflows.

By pairing Grok 4.3 with Mantle inside GovCloud specifically, AWS and xAI are targeting a narrow but high-value segment: public sector and regulated enterprise customers that need frontier-model capability without leaving a hardened, compliance-certified environment. That's a notable shift from the consumer-facing narrative that has dominated Grok's public profile so far.
